Executive Director

Charlene has been with Mainstream for two and a half years, where she started out as the Clinical Director. Since then, she has worked to build new programs with Mainstream including Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services, a day program for adults with mental illness. In December of 2019, Charlene helped to open two new programs: Crisis Stabilization and Outpatient Psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Charlene has more than 10 years of work experience in the field of mental health. She has worked with individuals having intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, trauma, and serious mental illness. She has become a trauma informed trainer, provided counseling services and play techniques to youth, and has been a social worker at a psychiatric hospital in Catawba. Charlene recently became trained in EMDR, which will be a new modality used for outpatient counseling. Charlene’s passion is to bridge the gaps in needs for individuals, collaborate with well-minded providers, and provide quality services to those in need. Charlene appreciates diversity in others and believes that each step taken to affect change can make that much more of a difference for tomorrow.

Clinical Director

Megan has been with Mainstream for the past six months and, prior to Mainstream, has worn many hats. However, her passion for working with children and adults has only increased. Megan has provided and continues to provide therapy with various modalities to include sand tray, art in therapy, play in therapy, inner child work, and an array of counseling techniques. She has recently become trained in EMDR and is working to become certified. Megan has been working in the mental health field for over 15 years and is a certified trauma professional, which has been an area of focus throughout her career. She continues to be passionate about helping individuals to work through their trauma with a focus on healing. Megan enjoys working in the community, collaborating with schools, DSS, TFC case managers, and the CSBs. In her current role, she has worked alongside the Executive Director to establish additional programs at Mainstream, such as Bridges to Hope, where she continues to be an outpatient therapist for children, adolescents, and adults.
