Emmitt has worked with children, adults and families for 3 years in the field of mental health counseling and 5 years altogether in the field of mental health. He is currently in residency and working towards LPC licensure. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Psychology from Emory & Henry University , and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Emory & Henry University School of Health Sciences. Emmitt uses a combination of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy to treat adolescents, adults and Family Systems to treat families. His clinical expertise includes treating depression, anxiety, panic, anger, grief/loss, substance abuse, addictive behaviors, abuse), and identity issues. Emmitt, also a Level I Gottman, enjoys working with relationships and marriages in order to improve communication skills and strengthen their significant commitment to each other. Along with that, Emmitt also enjoys working with athletes and teams to improve and maintain a mindset to overcome sport challenges. Emmitt seeks to create a safe space where individuals are empowered, accepted, and able to set and enforce boundaries
