Christina Jordan: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Resident, Advocate For Mental Health

Christina Jordan, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Resident, is a dedicated and compassionate advocate for mental health and wellness. With over 20 years of counseling experience, she serves as the Outpatient Team Lead at Mainstream Mental Health in Blairs, Virginia. Christina is an instrumental figure in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Mainstream Mental Health in Blairs VA, where she facilitates groups that empower individuals to remain sober and substance-free. Her approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, a deep understanding of human behavior, and an unwavering commitment to helping people transform their lives.

Christina’s journey into the world of mental health began with a passion for education and a heart for service. She started her career teaching youth deemed “at-risk,” where she quickly realized the profound impact of early intervention and support on young lives. This realization inspired her to transition into various facets of mental health services, including Mental Health Skill Building, Therapeutic Day Treatment, and Intensive In-Home services. These roles allowed Christina to develop a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families, equipping her with the skills and insights necessary to support her clients effectively.

Driven by her desire to make a greater impact, Christina pursued her licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Virginia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Averett University and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. In addition to her academic achievements, Christina is a certified facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting Program, a relationship-based early intervention program designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children. This certification highlights her commitment to fostering healthy family dynamics and providing parents with the tools they need to raise emotionally resilient children.

Christina’s professional journey is deeply intertwined with her faith. She loves speaking about the goodness of the Lord and often incorporates spirituality into her therapeutic approach, offering a holistic path to healing that resonates with many of her clients. She believes in the transformative power of faith, both in her personal life and in her practice, where she encourages clients to find strength and purpose in their spiritual beliefs.

Beyond her professional life, Christina is a devoted mother of three children. She finds joy in spending time with her family, including her three fur babies, who bring an extra dose of love and comfort to her home. Christina is also an advocate for her eight-year-old daughter’s hair bow and accessory company, Raine Bow Accessories, which promotes children’s literacy and entrepreneurship. She supports her daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit and believes in nurturing creativity and independence from a young age.
